How Is Good On You funded?

Last updated on 14 Nov, 2019

Good On You is a social impact business, partly owned by the not-for-profit organisation Ethical Consumers Australia.

Good On You has been financed by founder contributions, crowdfunding campaigns, grants and seed capital from social impact-driven investors. If you want to help us grow, please email [email protected].

Our ongoing income is derived from three main sources:

  • Some of our content contains affiliate marketing links. When you click on these links and visit an eCommerce store such as an ethical brand’s website, that activity is registered with an affiliate marketing service for up to 30 days. Good On You may receive a  commission for any purchases you make during that time.

  • We connect well-rated brands to our large user base of consumers who want to use their shopping to make the world a better place. This includes special offers, sponsored blog articles, newsletter spotlights and social media posts.

Note that we only work with brands rated “Good” or “Great” using our transparent rating methodology described here [Link]. In this way we can help promote the good work of the very best ethical fashion labels, and encourage others to improve their practices.  When a Good On You article is sponsored, this is disclosed to users.

In all other cases Good On You does not receive any payment for recommending brands within our content.

  • Since launching, we have developed a data set comprising thousands of brands, and acquired world-leading expertise on ethical sourcing, manufacturing and distribution in fashion. We offer access to this data and expertise to retailers worldwide who are looking to monitor the performance of their brand portfolio, stock more ethical brands in their stores and communicate the ethics of brands to their customers.
